What to expect

  • Prior to your first consultation, we will send you an assessment form to complete online. You will receive a link to this in your booking confirmation email and we kindly ask that you return this at least 24 hours before your appointment to give your therapist the chance to review it.

  • Your first appointment will begin with a thorough assessment, where your therapist will review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and carry out movement and muscle testing to understand your goals and areas of tension.

From this, a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan will be created to support your recovery and improve physical function.

Treatment will begin within your appointment and may include a combination of techniques such as deep tissue massage, therapeutic exercises, stretching, medical acupuncture or dry needling, and sports taping — depending on your needs.

Throughout your session, your comfort is a priority. Your therapist will communicate with you to ensure the treatment is effective and tailored to you.

Appointments are up to 60 minutes, with 30 minutes of hands-on treatment.

  • We tailor our rehabilitation plans to the patient’s specific goals, ensuring you get back to your desired functional, occupational, or sports-specific fitness levels. This will differ for each person.

    Appointments are 30 minutes.

“The Sports Therapy consultation with Phoebe was awesome. It was night and day from assessments I have had with physios in the past. I’ve not even seen the treatment plan yet but I already have confidence it’s going to make a real difference. I felt really listened to and well understood”

Sports Massage & Rehabilitation FAQ

  • Sports Massage & Rehabilitation combines hands-on treatment with targeted exercise therapy to reduce pain, improve movement, and support long-term recovery.

Unlike sports massage alone, which focuses on relieving muscle tension and improving flexibility, this combined approach looks at the bigger picture — identifying the cause of your discomfort and addressing it through both treatment and rehabilitation.

Your sessions may include a mix of:

    • Deep tissue massage to ease tight muscles and reduce pain

    • Joint mobilisation to improve movement

    • Rehabilitation exercises to build strength and stability

    • Stretching to improve flexibility

    • Techniques such as acupuncture or dry needling where appropriate

This approach not only helps you feel better in the short term, but also works to prevent issues from returning — supporting better movement, performance, and overall physical health.

  • The main difference between the two lies in their areas of focus. Sports therapists s tailored to athletes and active individuals, focused on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and optimisation of performance through exercises, manual therapy and rehabilitation programmes. Physiotherapy is a less specialised field, addressing a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

  • Not at all. Sports Massage & Rehabilitation is for anyone experiencing aches, pains, or movement issues — not just those who play sports.

Many of our most common complaints come from everyday activities, including aching knees, painful shoulders, and back pain, often caused by desk work, parenting, or general daily strain.

Whether you’re active, returning from injury, or simply looking to move and feel better, this treatment is tailored to you.

  • Please wear loose and comfortable clothing. To do an accurate assessment and offer treatment our Sports Therapist will often need to uncover the body part in question. If you have an upper body, neck or back problem you may be required to remove your top half. Please wear underwear you feel comfortable in or bring a vest top. For a lower limb issue we suggest you wear shorts.
